Dead Set on Life Music Mashup Winner at Lyrics on the Lawn Thursday July 9

 

Main Street: Greeneville’s 2026 Summer Concert Series second show is Thursday, July 9 at 7:00 pm.  The FREE concert will be held on the lawn of the Dickson-Williams Mansion in the heart of downtown Greeneville, Tennessee.  The concerts take place each Thursday evening, during the month of July. This week’s show and the second of the season will open with Alli Epperson followed by headliner Dead Set on Life, Main Street’s Music Mash-Up Battle of the Bands 2026 Winner The opening act will begin at 7 with intermission scheduled for 7:45 and the headliner will be taking the stage at 8.  The event is scheduled rain or shine on the lawn of the mansion.  Severe weather may force cancellation so stay tuned to all forms of media for updates.

 

Alli Epperson BIO

Alli Epperson has called Bristol home for the last 27 years and has found the best way to serve herself and the community is through songwriting and performing. Her songs serve as the brainchildren from the result of being deeply present in life, including all the tragedies that come along with it. She is inspired by Appalachian living, and her ultimate goal is to encompass complete artistic freedom through her haunting melodies, melancholy hooks, and honest, relatable lyrics."

 

Dead Set On Life BIO

Dead Set on Life has built a reputation for breathing new life into the songs that shaped rock history. Their tribute sets weave together southern rock anthems, and the best of 70s Rock N Roll, creating a 70s Rock Tribute band experience that feels both familiar and thrillingly fresh. With searing guitar riffs, powerhouse vocals, and a rhythm section that rocks like a freight train, the band transforms every stage into a full-tilt rock and roll revival. While paying tribute to legends of the past, Dead Set On Life keeps audiences singing, dancing, and wanting more. In March 2026 the band competed and won Main Street’s Music Mash-Up Battle of the Bands Competition.

 

Open Mic

Have talent? Would you like to share with others then Open Mic is for you. Each week individuals may perform at Open Mic.  There is no charge to do so. All performances are to be acoustic in nature and not electric. A microphone and speaker will be provided. The focus is on raw and authentic sound. Time slots are fifteen minutes each and run from 6:00PM to 7:00PM.  Open Mic is located near the Concert Café in the food court area across the street from the main stage.

 

Food Available

On site event food vendors for this concert include Creamy Cup, Easy Peasy Lemonade, Greeneville Graze, Que Bola Cuban Food, The Griddle, Top Dog Hot Dogs, and Main Street Greeneville.  Food service is scheduled to start at 6:00 pm.  Note:  Creamy Cup, Easy Peasy Lemonade, Greeneville Graze, Que Bola Cuban Food, The Griddle, Top Dog Hot Dogs will locate across the street from the mansion in the gravel lot where Cumberland Presbyterian Church is hosting a café style eating area. Main Street Greeneville will be located near the stage selling popcorn and water. 

 

Family Friendly

The Lyrics on the Lawn concerts are family friendly and open to all.  Folks are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket.  You are welcome to bring a picnic supper or purchase food from one of the event food vendors, Main Street: Greeneville, or other restaurants, to eat during the performances. The event is Smoke Free with a designated area. The event is not permitted for alcohol.  Please note pets are welcome, however they must remain within the designated Fido Friendly area at the top of the hill during the event. The kiddos have things to entertain them as well.

 

The Venue

The Dickson-Williams Mansion is located at 108 North Irish Street, adjacent to the General Morgan Inn in the heart of historic downtown Greeneville, TN. We welcome everyone to the great lawn of the Dickson-Williams Mansion and the “happiest HISTORY place on earth”.  The Mansion, often called “The Showplace of East Tennessee” and home to the Williams family for 47 years is open daily for touring at 1 PM, beginning in the lobby of the General Morgan Inn. Main Street: Greeneville partners with the Mansion to provide the daily tours.

Although the concerts are free to attend, donations are welcomed by Main Street: Greeneville, a non-profit 501c3 organization.  Donations collected at the concerts help to defray series expenses. Jann Mirkov, Main Street’s Executive Director stated, “Words can’t express how thankful we are to those that donate to our program.  As a non-profit, we rely on the generosity of those in our community to support our efforts to revitalize our downtown.  We thank everyone for their generous donations.”

 

The Lyrics on the Lawn series was created by Main Street: Greeneville in co-operation with the Dickson-Williams Historical Association to showcase regional musical talent.
