About Us
Main Street: Greeneville - The organization, not the place, is a non-profit 501 (c)3 corporation having been formed in 1983 as the first of Tennessee’s five original Main Street communities. It is a program of the National Trust Main Street Center, National Trust for Historic Preservation. The Main Street Four-Point Approach supports sustainable community driven revitalization efforts through Design, Economic Restructuring, Organization and Promotion. The Main Street District is an eighteen block area in historic downtown Greeneville that includes both commercial and residential properties.
Mission: To establish partnerships between public and private sectors dedicated to the revitalization of the Main Street District, the preservation of our historic structures and promotion of heritage tourism.
