The Whiskey Sticks Bio

No Gimmicks, just good music! The Whisky Sticks are a local band of musicians who exhibit a high degree of talent, energy, soul, and variety in every musical performance.  A true crowd pleaser, The Whisky Sticks maintain an ever-evolving musical vocabulary ranging from Folk to heart-pounding rock-n-roll and provide full bodied musical delights from the highly energetic to the heart wrenching.  The Whisky Sticks bring it to young and more seasoned listeners, alike!

The Whisky Sticks lineup consists of four members, Scott Mancl, Kris Carlson, Todd Kane, and Brandon Renfro.   Scott and Kris developed many of their musical skills, writing and performing with another well-known and loved local Tri-Cities band Doc Bonhomie.   Scott brings to the band original material and lyrics, which permeate the human experience from love making to law breaking.   Kris demonstrates why he teaches guitar lessons for a living.  Kris shows off his years of practice and hard work on the guitar while also singing some high energy vocals.

Todd and Brandon founded the local hard driving, blues-based rock band Stormy Monday in 1996 and rocked from Knoxville to Charlotte for over a decade.  Most know Todd for his explosive capabilities on slide guitar; however, Todd is also an accomplished bassist holding the band together.  The musical foundation of this motley crew is none other than the exceptionally skilled and refined Brandon Renfro.  Aside from being a drummer's drummer, Brandon belts out lyrics and vocal tones which one might describe as "Allmanesque". When these individuals come together prepare yourself for an open-ended, wide variety of music and good times.  No gimmicks, just good music!  The Whisky Sticks perform originals and covers ranging from Steve Miller Band, Stevie Wonder, The Jackson Five, Little Feat and The Allman Brothers.  The goal of The Whisky Sticks is to have fun, while ensuring that their audience is provided with a wide variety of songs and an emotional listening experience that will keep them coming back again, and again!

Food Available

Onsite event food vendors will be Easy Peasy Lemonade, Greeneville Graze, Manic Espress-ion’s Coffee Company, Petro’s, Top Dog Hot Dog, and MSG/GCP.  Food service is scheduled to start at 5:30 pm.  Note: Food vendors will locate across the street from the mansion.  Main Street Greeneville and Greene County Partnership will be located near the stage selling water and popcorn.  Other options can be from the downtown area merchants.

The concert is family friendly and open to all.  Folks are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket.  You are welcome to bring a picnic supper.  The event is Smoke Free. The event is not permitted for alcohol.  Please note pets are welcome, however they must remain on their leash. Beginning at 5:30pm the children have things to entertain them as well with a face painting station provided by Maggie’s Designs.  What better way to celebrate fall then unleashing their creative side by decorating a pumpkin or doing some chalk drawing.
