MAIN STREET GREENEVILLE TO HOLD DOWNTOWN IMPROVEMENT GRANT PROGRAM PUBLIC MEETING
A Public Meeting has been scheduled to provide details of the Downtown Improvement Grant Program. The funds are provided by the State of Tennessee, through the Department of Economic and Community Development and support improvements to commercial building facades and outdoor public spaces within the boundaries of the eighteen blocks of the Main Street: Greeneville District. Eligible projects include Façade improvements - exterior improvements to for-profit or nonprofit commercial businesses including signage, painting (historic brick buildings which have not previously been painted should remain unpainted), awnings, lighting, windows, doors, entryways and other approved activities. At least 50% of the proposed project must be for façade improvements. Grantees must follow local historic overlay design guidelines or the grant design guidelines. These design guidelines must be incorporated into the sub-grantee’s contracts.
The meeting will be held in the boardroom at Main Street: Greeneville office located at 310 S. Main Street on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. Building owners, their representatives, and any interested parties will be provided with applications and program guidelines. All persons of any race, age, or gender are welcome to attend. Any person wishing to attend with special needs of accessibility should contact Jann Mirkov at Main Street Greeneville (423) 639-7102.
