Jimmie D Blues Band to Headline Lyrics on the Lawn July 3rd
Main Street Greeneville’s Summer Concert Series celebrates twelve years with the first show of 2025 on Thursday, July 3 at 7:00 pm. The FREE concert will be held on the lawn of the Dickson-Williams Mansion in the heart of downtown Greeneville, Tennessee. The concerts take place each Thursday evening in July. Get your dancing shoes out and get ready to boogie. This week’s concert and the first of the season will open with Stemwinder followed by headliner Jimmie D Blues Band. The opening act will begin at 7 with intermission scheduled for 7:45 and the headliner will be taking the stage at 8. The event is scheduled rain or shine on the lawn of the mansion. Severe weather may force cancellation so stay tuned to all forms of media for updates.

Stemwinder Bio

"From Norman Blake and Tony Rice to Tom Paxton, & the Carter Family with stops along the way to visit the Eagles, the Byrds, Sam Bush, Dan Fogelberg, Richard Thompson, Michael Martin Murphy, and even the Rolling Stones. Each of the four band members brings their own personal influences to the mix creating an interesting and diverse listening experience. The Band hails from east Tennessee: Shannon Morton, smooth, laid back playing style and adds his voice to both lead and harmony vocals. Dennis Ellis does the Mandolin chores and provides both baritone harmony & lead vocals. Pam Minke keeps the band in line with her rock solid, inventive bass playing while adding her voice to the harmony mix as well as taking the lead vocals on her favorite songs. Bob Minke plays banjo, guitar and sings both lead and harmony vocals to complete the quartet. What started out as four new friends getting together to jam occasionally has become four really good friends getting together to play music for their family, friends, and fans whenever and wherever they get the chance.The East Tennessee & Western North Carolina Railroad was born in this Blue Ridge Mountain country more than a century ago. In the 1880s it was nicknamed the Stemwinder."
Open Mic
Back by popular demand this year will be an Open Mic opportunity each week from 6 – 7:00pm. Open Mic will be located over in the Food Court/Café area. This is open to all from the kiddos to adults. If you are interested in participating contact and speak with Jann at the Main Street office at 423-639-7102 to reserve a slot. There will be four slots per week. Sing, play an instrument or do both acoustically or via Bluetooth with the provided mobile sound system. Set-up and performance time is limited to fifteen minutes per person.
Food Available
Onsite event food vendors will vary week to week. Vendors include Bite Me Bistro, Creamy Cup, Top Dog Hot Dog, Greeneville Graze, Gypsy Soul Market Wandering Lemon and Boards, Petros, and Main Street Greeneville. Food service is scheduled to start at 6:00 pm. Note: Food vendors will locate across the street from the mansion. Main Street Greeneville will be located near the stage selling water and popcorn. Other options can be from the downtown area merchants. Cumberland Presbyterian Church plans to set-up the café area with dining tables and chairs near the food vendors for guests to enjoy.
Family Friendly
The Lyrics on the Lawn concerts are family friendly and open to all. Folks are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket. You are welcome to bring a picnic supper. The event is Smoke Free with a designated area. The event is not permitted for alcohol. Please note pets are welcome, however they must remain within the designated Fido Friendly area at the top of the hill during the event. The kiddos have things to entertain them as well.

Although the concerts are free to attend, donations are welcomed by Main Street: Greeneville, a non-profit 501c3 organization. Donations collected at the concerts help to defray series expenses. Jann Mirkov, Main Street’s Executive Director stated, “Words can’t express how thankful we are to those that donate to our program. As a non-profit, we rely on the generosity of those in our community to support our efforts to revitalize our downtown. We thank everyone for their generous donations.”
The Lyrics on the Lawn series was created by Main Street: Greeneville in co-operation with the Dickson-Williams Historical Association to showcase regional musical talent.
The Dickson-Williams Mansion is located at 108 North Irish Street, adjacent to the General Morgan Inn in the heart of historic downtown Greeneville, TN. Mansion tours leaving from the hotel lobby are offered daily at 1:00pm
July 10th Lineup celebrates one of the top two bands from Main Street’s 2025 Music Mashup – Battle of the Bands. The opening artist is Sage Bates followed by Mashup’s First Runner Up, Donnie and the Dry Heavers headlining the evening. Visit www.mainstreetgreeneville,org for additional information.
