Historic Downtown Greeneville, TN to Host First-Ever Appalachian Autumn Festival

New juried festival celebrates Appalachian makers, live music, and fall food alongside the Sundown on Depot Car Show

Discover Greeneville, the tourism division of the Greene County Partnership, is inviting visitors from across the region and beyond to the first annual Appalachian Autumn Festival, a full day of Appalachian craftsmanship, live music, and fall festivities in the heart of historic downtown Greeneville, Tennessee, on Saturday, October 24, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Set against the backdrop of the Appalachian Mountains in East Tennessee, the festival brings together a juried selection of makers and artisans from across the region, showcasing handcrafted pottery, woodwork, baked goods, and other traditional and contemporary Appalachian crafts. Visitors can browse the artisan market throughout downtown while enjoying live music from local and regional performers.

The festival will also feature a lineup of food trucks and fall fare, including seasonal food and drinks, along with a dedicated kids zone offering activities for the whole family. College football fans will not have to miss a snap, thanks to a College Football TV Trailer streaming games throughout the day.

Running alongside the festival, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Sundown on Depot Car Show will bring classic and custom cars to the streets of downtown Greeneville for car enthusiasts and casual admirers alike.

"We are so proud to bring this new tradition to downtown Greeneville. This festival is a chance to celebrate the many artisans, musicians, and small-town spirit that make Greene County special, and to welcome visitors from near and far to see why we love calling this place home," said Jeff Taylor, President and CEO of the Greene County Partnership.

Downtown Greeneville, one of Tennessee's oldest towns, offers a walkable historic district of locally owned shops and restaurants and is home to the Andrew Johnson National Historic Site, the final home of the nation's seventeenth president. The Appalachian Autumn Festival adds a new fall tradition to a town already known for its small-town charm and mountain scenery.
