Memorial Day Military Service Stories

May 21, 2019

Greeneville, TN: The National Park Service is honored to care for the hallowed remains of more than 2000 veterans at the Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. Each stone stands as a monument to courage and sacrifice at all levels. Each marker holds a tale. If you have a loved one interred at the Andrew Johnson National Cemetery, we would like to hear from you!

In coordination the Memorial Day observance, the Andrew Johnson National Historic Site would like to share the stories of those to which we owe so much. Beginning on Monday, May 20 and throughout the Memorial Day Weekend, the park will share, via social media, the stories and images provided by you, the public. The stories might include not only a record of military service, but also the things that make us all who we are. What were their goals in life? Maybe share details of a favorite food, hobby, or a glimpse into family life?
If you are interested in sharing these stories, please email a short biographical response with an image, if possible, to Ranger Burke Greear at arleigh_greear@nps.gov
